ALGOL
SHROUD OF DESPONDENCY

Whispers from an Empty Room
Split CD
prg 20011

Algol's side of the split can be described as atmospheric black metal, at times reminiscent of older Arcturus or And Oceans, but with a more raw and underground feel. Overall, a much more solid presentation than the debut "Gorgonus Aura" CD released on Twelfth Planet sometime back.

Shroud of Despondency's side of the split will surprise everyone that is familiar with the bands previous work. Gone are the acoustic guitar and atmospheric breaks, in its place are more experimental passages. A more dirge-doom style, combined with death metal, in addition to the traditional ShroudOf Despondency. black metal style.
